Are car insurers trying to kill off speed awareness courses?

It relates to certain car insurers increasing the cost to drivers/riders who have attended Speed awareness Courses. The address is: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/47243

Well done. I urge all readers to sign this and to shun any insurer who adopts this tactic. If insurers penalise drivers for taking Speed Awareness Courses instead of points, then no one will bother to take a Speed Awareness Course, bad habits will not be corrected and more deaths on the roads will result.
